Low Pressure Connection
(South of 540 Loop)

CONNECTION TO A LOW PRESSURE SEWER SERVICE

(Typically Owners to the South of NM 540 Loop)

Upon completion of the construction of the wastewater collection system, the Village of Logan shall connect owners of existing structures to the sewer main.  For property owners that will connect to a low pressure sewer main, a grinder pump station will be installed and maintained on your property by the Village.  The Village will construct and maintain a 1 ½" low pressure sewer line from the low pressure sewer main to the grinder pump station.  An on-lot gravity sewer line will be installed, between the grinder pump station and the gravity line that connects to your existing septic tank.  After the low pressure sewer service connection is operational, the Village shall close your septic tank per New Mexico Environment Department Regulations.

When the Village either installs or maintains sewer services on this property, the Village will attempt to minimize the disturbance and restore existing landscaping as possible but are ultimately not responsible for repairing or replacing landscaping, surface material or other surface, fencing, or buried and/or other site improvements that may be damaged during the installation of the sewer service.  Therefore, restoration of the property necessary as a result of any on-lot installation work is the sole responsibility and expense of the Owner.

After the contractor's warranty period is over, the on-lot portion of the gravity sewer service line is the sole responsibility of the Owner to maintain, repair and replace as necessary.  The Village is responsible for all other aspects of the wastewater collection system including the grinder pump station and low pressure sewer line on your property.  Per the Installation and Maintenance Agreement for Sewer Services, the Owner must have the grinder pump station and pump panel accessible and unobstructed at all times so that the Village may repair or replace components.

For additional information, please refer to the Village of Logan Sewer Ordinance, Installation and Maintenance Agreement for Sewer Services, and the Application for Sewer Service Agreement.  If you need further assistance, contact the Village of Logan at (575) 487-2239 or www.utelake.com.
